In a rapidly changing world, stability and community support is important for students to thrive.

• Develop Standalone AI Policy for the Board by listening to pedagogy experts

• Expedite capital investments in facilities to modernize our Schools in a changing environment

• Champion partnerships with local environmental organizations to provide the benefits that being in nature contributes to students and staff including boosting self-confidence and reducing anxiety

Effective, inclusive, and open communication between trustees and the community is critical.

• Utilize new media to communicate with students, staff, and parents through channels that work best for them (e-newsletters, social media, podcast)

• Trustee Talks (town hall style school visits)

• Ensuring you don’t need to ask “Who is my Trustee anyway?” and “What does a Trustee even do?”

Schools should be a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for everyone.

• Ensure students are physically and emotionally safe before, after, and during school, through anti-bullying and anti-violence initiatives and community safe streets leadership

• As one of our most important “third spaces” in the community, leverage that strength for more events that bring our community together

The school community best served when a culture of respect and integrity is fostered by our trustees.

• In my Professional capacity, I take public inquiries and solve problems for residents on a daily basis - I am bringing this capacity to solve problems to the Board

• I am ready to work with the Student and Parent Support Office at the Board to best solve the problems facing our Schools

Our School Board is best served by the local community and not a Provincial takeover

• The Board needs to find a way to balance the budget to avoid a Provincial takeover, or make the case to the community that the Province is not funding it sufficiently

• I live in the Wards I will be representing and am that local connection to the School Board - proximity to elected officials matters

• I am running this campaign by myself, so you as a voter don’t need to worry “who is behind me”

Oversight of the Board is the trust we can’t afford to squander

• I have familiarity presenting to an elected Board of Directors made up of Municipally elected officials

• I bring budget experience gained through looking after large amounts of capital flood control infrastructure

• I will find compromises that best serve and reflect the students, parents, staff, school board and taxpayers

With STEM being a priority for the Board, I will champion its efforts whenever possible

• With Undergraduate and Masters Degrees in Science, I am an asset to the Board when STEM is a major priority

• I have been privileged to work with our Education group at my job for events like the Halton Children’s Water Festival and our foray into TV, Conservation Kids (you can check one of the videos out in the Media page)

Our children are our future - I’ll look after them as if they were my own

• As a Father to a Son in Grade 3, the well-being of our kids will always be top of my mind

• As a Son and Grandson to two teachers, this parental voice is amplified through a deep respect for the Education community
